SCAMP would like to congratulate IGI illustrator, Chris Judge for his part in McConnell’s three bells last week at the ICAD awards. Kama Sutra won Silver for Art direction, Bronze for Colour Consumer & a Bronze for best use of Illustration. We look forward to seeing a step-by-step on this one Chris!
Congratulations also to Oliver Jeffers whose illustrations for McConnells & BOI won Gold for best use of Illustration

Simpson Strikes Gold

IGI member Steve Simpson has been awarded Gold in the illustration design section of the AOI’s Images 32 for his branding of the gourmet pie outlet “Pure Pie”. Images 32 is due to be published next year and the accompanying exhibition will be held in London in July/August 2008.

Dave Comiskey Exhibition

Dave Comiskey has a solo exhibition of new illustrations and paintings in a gallery/shop called CIRCUS in the Powerscourt Centre, Dublin. His work will be familiar to those who pick up Mongrel magazine. The show opens on Nov 22nd – this thursday – at 5pm, until 8pm. The exhibition will be running until just before christmas.

A really interesting exhibition has just opened in the George Bernard Shaw bar in Dublin, we sent our intrepid reporter Mario Sughi along….

Working in an office in the city centre, every Thursday evening there is a new invitation to either some kind of Art or some restoring drinks with some friends. But tonight the “24 Project” opening at the GB Shaw off Camden St will provide me with both options at the same time (Great and great that I always have my camera with me).

New Paintings by John Short, Senior Lecturer in drawing and illustration in the Faculty of Applied Arts at the Dublin Institute of Technology. Opening reception on Thursday 15th October 2007 at 7pm in Dalkey Arts Gallery. The exhibition will be opened by Barry Devlin.
