I assume he’s talking about Richard Williams’ ‘The Thief And The Cobbler’. From what I’ve heard, it was tough. That story still doesn’t beat one from an old tutor of mine who was drawing the flies on the cobbler for the best part of 6 months!

not much of a story. if you’ve seen the film you’ll remember the flies that constantly hover around the thief. well if anyone was available, they’d be handed a pile of drawings of flies to inbetween. apparently my tutor got a raw deal in that department (plus the film was produced on ’1′s – leading to twice as many drawings as one would be used to!)
