Olympics in the air

With the Olympics fast approaching and after the headache (not to mention his heart attacks) mentioned in this previous post about the artist who designed the Beijing Olympics Mascots, lets take some time to enjoy the posters from the previous Olympic Games.

Go to this website to view them all.

    They’re by and large uninspired.
The ’32 LA poster looks like it’s for a boy scout jamboree.
Wurbel’s ’36 poster gets the ball rolling, but after that only Munich, Moscow, Barcelona and Atlanta have any flair. They even re-used Finland’s cancelled 1940 poster for the ’50 games, just with new dates! What a bunch of cheapskates!
