I always presumed the stirrup hung with the saddle from the moment it was invented until I looked closely at the Roman sculptures and icons.

Holy Horsetackle Batman – who’d've thunk it! Nice idea Brian – there must be a whole slew of ‘evolved objects’ out there, that’d make a sweet little set of themed books for early learners. Sort of Objective Histories, or ‘obectivus historis’ ! (unlike ‘orribles).
