The Picture Works art comp

The Picture Works, who offer a kaleioscope of free eco-friendly postcards in venues nationwide, are celebrating 15 years in business by running their first annual art competition.
The top prize is €1,000 – and most enticingly – you get a postcard campaign devoted to your masterpiece and it will be available in 300 cafes, bars and restaurants throughout the country. Runners-up won’t be disappointed by prizes either.
The competition has two categories. One for our clients (anyone that has previously printed with us or will be printing with us in April or May) and a second category for everybody. Clients may enter 5 pieces of artwork for the competiton, everybody else may enter 1 piece of artwork.
So if you reckon you’re a potential Picasso, are graduating from art college this summer or fancy you have what is takes to make the Mona Lisa smile, wait no longer. Dust off that easel, get inventive with a camera or with whatever is your medium of choice, go create a unique work of art…and let us help you make that image work its magic for you.
The deadline for entries – which must be provided digitally – is 20 May at 12 noon. For details log on to www.thepictureworks.com. Since its establishment in 1994, The Picture Works has become a European leader in under the radar postcard advertising and has run thousands of campaigns, mixing commerical advertisements and the showcasing of artists’ work as well as doing funky urban light projection shows.
Our AIR (Artist in Residence) series comprising six postcards by a selected artist has previously featured photographers Gary Coyle and Stuart Redler and artists Jamie Murphy and Anthony Kelly to name a few while our START cards – of which we have run in excess of 100 – showcase an eclectic mix of worldwide graffitti and street art.
