Make A Wish
Ogilvy Ireland and The Make-A-Wish foundation have collaborated on a brilliant campaign to highlight the work they do for children with life threatening conditions. The concept behind the campaign was to use illustrations by Irish and international illustrators to capture the wonderful imaginations of children. The results are fantastic.
Ogilvy was approached by Mediaedge on behalf of Make-A-Wish to create a campaign to highlight the work they do. This charity grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. The creative team Laurence O’Byrne (art director) and Emma Fielding (copywriter) came up with a campaign that sought to bring the imagination of these children’s wishes alive. With this in mind the campaign needed a mix of illustration styles to represent the different wishes and internal worlds of the children. The campaign consisted of a mix of outdoor, press and tv. All the illustrators & Animators involved worked on a pro bono basis. The project had a mix of some of the best of Irish and international illustrators including Chris Judge, Stephen Synnott, Oliver Jeffers, Tim Ellis, Eboy, Celyn, Vault 49, Steve Simpson and Chris Haughton. The TV ad used a selection of the illustrations by Chris Judge, Stephen Synottt, Vault 49 and Tim Ellis to create computer models for the animated TV ad creatd by Piranhabar. All-in-all the illustrations created a mix of styles that really captured the imagination and brought to life children’s wishes.

The posters look fantastic, well done. So far I’ve only seen Steve’s Knight poster guarding the bus stops in Blackrock and it looks sweet!
