movies r fun!

By now most people will be familiar with Josh Cooley, a story artist at Pixar, who has, since 2008, been posting wonderful drawings on his blog for an “Inappropriate Golden Book for Kids” where famous movie scenes are given the children’s book treatment.  Now two years later he’s finally compiled them, along with some new ones into a book called Movies R Fun! due out later this summer.

roger o’reilly’s jurassic lark

IGI member Roger O’Reilly has recently completed the mammoth … (or should that be giganotosauras) task of illustrating and designing a dinosaur wall-chart for the Irish Daily Mail. The job comprised of illustrating the background panorama and 36 dinosaurs and other animals to cover five periods from the Late Triassic to the eventual demise of the giants in the Late Cretaceous era around 100-65 million years ago. The deadline didn’t allow quite so much time with just 14 days available to complete the project.

The poster and dinosaur stickers are included free with this week’s issues of the newspaper.

The Last Dublin Pecha Kucha Night

And so the Dublin leg of the international Pecha Kucha franchise comes to a satisfying end after 6 installments. Going out with a bang, tomorrows event sees us bring 20 speakers to Sugar Club for the mother of all PKN’s including IGI member Steve Doogan.
