At only 9mm in height, Dot is officially the world’s smallest stop motion animation heroine. If you want to brighten up your day you could do worse than watching the above video, created by the good people over at Sumo Science. Part of Design Week 2010 is an exhibition of design and illustration work by Cor Klaasen. The exhibition will include numerous book covers for Gill & Macmillan, Fallons, Helicon, Torc and the Talbot Press as well as a series of striking record covers designed for the Mercier Press. The venue is Adifferentkettleoffishaltogether, 18 Ormond Quay Upper, Dublin and runs 4 – 10 November.
Cor’s main career was in advertising and he worked for many of the leading Irish agencies. He had a healthy freelance practice, designing at least 170 book covers and 35 LP sleeves between 1958 and 1988. Klaasen also taught at NCAD and Dun Laoghaire College of Art and Design.

As part of Design Week 2010 The Brainbelt Illustration Collective are holding an exhibition at The Centre for Creative Practices, 15 Lower Pembroke Street, Dublin which runs from 1 – 7 November.

If you missed it the first time – here’s a second chance to peak through the keyhole and see the murky, guilty, and embarrassing side to Irish creative folk.

Dr. Sketchy’s Dublin Anti Art School presents an alternative Halloween Life-Drawing Session, A tribute to Tim Burton with Models and Performers, on 30th October in Dublin.

IGI member Peter Donelly presents: synth-Pop. In his own words:
“The series is called ‘Synthpop’ and is based on classic keyboards used through pop music and some of the artists who have used them.
They have gained alot of popularity through facebook in recent weeks so I’m thinking of getting them printed up as a limited edition run.”
