The Ort of Ross O’Carroll-Kelly

Monday, November 26th, 2012

For ten years the pen of Illustrators Ireland member Alan Clarke has captured the misguided escapades of Ross O’Carroll-Kelly and his supporting cast of misfits. Their adventures have played out over 14 books, 2 stage shows, a CD and countless newspaper columns.

A new exhibition at the Powersourt Townhouse Centre, Dublin,  will feature a huge selection of original illustrations, prints, sketches, theatre posters, and never-before-seen Ross ephemera and curiosities. There will also be a glimpse behind the scenes of the process involved in creating the visual imagery of Ross’s world.

The Ort of Ross O’Carroll-Kelly opens on 1st December, on the 3rd floor of the Powerscourt Townhouse Centre, and runs until 24th December, daily 10am-6pm.

The Illustrated Beatles in Pictures

Friday, October 26th, 2012

The Illustrated Beatles exhibition by members of Illustrators Ireland opened at the Grand Social, Dublin, last Tuesday night, 23rd October, to resounding success.

The pieces looked incredible (hats off to the guys at Fire for a cracking print job) and the variety of style and talent was just amazing.

Illustrators Ireland member Mario Sughi (aka Nerosunero) can always be relied upon for a few snaps, and he has a lovely collection which you can see here.

The show comes down from the Grand Social’s walls tomorrow (Saturday 27th) at around 4pm, but don’t worry – there will be other chances to see the show, which will be announced closer to the time.

Congrats to all involved and to Illustrators Ireland Promotions Officer Peter Donnelly for organising a great show.

Damn son, that’s some fine print.

The list of songs compiled by creatives, broadcasters and writers has been visualised by some of Irelands leading, award winning illustrators and the show promises to offer an astonishing range of work being done in this area.

You can get a taste of some of the amazing work on display by joining the Facebook group, but make sure you get down there to see it in person. It promises to be an amazing show…
