Our friends at Offset 2013 are launching Illustration Week from today (Monday 11th Feb)

Watch out for upcoming posts on Seymor Chwast, Dave McKean and Gary Baseman, interviews with Ben Newman, Kate Moross, Calef Brown and Chris Silas Neal and a whole day dedicated to picture books where they’ll talk to Oliver Jeffers, and Illustrators Ireland members Niamh Sharkey and PJ Lynch.

There will also be videos from the archive, including talks from Chris Haughton, Chris Judge, Ale Mercado and Matthew Griffin, and you will find it all here.

I’d seen Illustrated Ireland member Brian Fitzgerald’s excellent submission for Sharp Suits previously, and have admired his work for some time. The line work is playful, and the textures and colours are always beautiful. The processes people use to create and illustrate has always fascinated me, so I was pretty happy yesterday to find a great step-by-step of the process of putting his Sharp Suits submission together.
